The Teams
in order of appearance

Astamatitos: Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

As we can see this is a team which heavily relies on trapping down the opponent's means of offense and then finishes them off by using the defensive oriented members as attacking bases for the the agile heavy hitters Infernape and Weavile.

Malfunction: Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Counter Lead Starmie dissalows the opponent to easily lay down Stealth Rock while it also supports greatly the next two members of the team thanks to its Fire resistance. Rotom is there to serve any Revenge killing needs, seeing as Dragon Dancers who resist bullet punch would otherwise anhiliate the team. It also benefits from Scizor's and Jirachi's Steel typing covering its weak spots. Salamence and Tyranitar are the late game sweepers of the team i am guessing.

The War

Rules: Ladder Match, Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Evasion Clause, Species Clause, Strict Damage Clause, Soul Dew Clause

Malfunction: gl
Astamatitos: u2

The moment i saw his name on my screen i knew this was gonna be a tough battle. Not because i've battled him before, but because he has been stalking my battles for the past 30 battles or so. Thus meaning that there's no element of suprise here, while countering his Pokemon just became a much harder task.

Astamatitos sent out Infernape (lvl 100 Infernape ?).
Malfunction sent out Starmie (lvl 100 Starmie).

Posted Image VS Posted Image

So Starmie it is. Usually i switch to Celebi right ahead, but something tells me that's not the right choice.
Therefore i stay in and decide to Endeavor as he uses Surf and then Vaccum Wave for the first kill.

Starmie used Ice Beam.
It's not very effective...
Infernape lost 28% of its health.
Infernape was frozen solid!
Starmie lost 10% of its health.
Infernape is frozen solid!
---

He begins predicting already. Seeing as he watched my team closely all this time he knew Celebi was my main Water resist. Thanksfully my instinct was correct, switching to Celebi would set me back a lot.

Sadly, am playing with another handicap now, not only he knows my team, but luck is on his side too seeing as he got a Freeze on my Infernape and thus rendering it useless.[/i]

I know he is going to Surf now so i am going to my Celebi.

Astamatitos switched in Celebi (lvl 100 Celebi).
Starmie used Hydro Pump.
It's not very effective...
Celebi lost 27% of its health.
Starmie lost 10% of its health.
Celebi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Celebi restored 6% of its health.
---

Posted Image VS Posted Image

From personal experience, most of Starmie's counters are Infernape weak, therefore instantly switch back to Infernape.

Astamatitos switched in Infernape (lvl 100 Infernape ?).
Malfunction switched in Jirachi (lvl 100 Jirachi).
---

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Jirachi comes in, a Pokemon weak to Infernape as expected. Sadly this Freeze doesn't allow me to instantly force it to switch, but nonetheless i decide to stay in and Fire Blast, hopefully taking out Jirachi early on.

Elusion has entered the room.
Infernape is frozen solid!
Jirachi used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!
---

And instead he gets free Stealth Rock down. ;_:

Malfunction: sorry about that
Malfunction switched in Starmie (lvl 100 Starmie).
Infernape is frozen solid!
---

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Astamatitos: its ok

I decide to let Infernape die, as the only thing it can do now to serve my team is well, allow Weavile to get onto Starmie without taking damage.

Starmie used Ice Beam.
It's not very effective...
Infernape lost 29% of its health.
Starmie lost 10% of its health.
Infernape is frozen solid!
---

He Ice Beams expecting Celebi. I could bring in Weavile on an Ice Beam, but am most certain he is going to Hydro Pump this time.

Starmie used Ice Beam.

Not.

It's not very effective...
Infernape lost 27% of its health.
Starmie lost 10% of its health.
Infernape was defrosted!
Infernape used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around the foe's team!
---

On the brightside of things Infernape defrosts and gets Stealth Rock down for me :>
Infernape might not had an impact in this game like it usually does, but it certainly managed to get Stealth Rock down, it's primary job. Thank you Infernape, now you can rest in peace.

Starmie used Ice Beam.
It's not very effective...
Infernape lost 16% of its health.
Astamatitos's Infernape fainted.
(5-6)

Astamatitos switched in Weavile (lvl 100 Weavile ?).
Weavile is exerting its pressure!
Pointed stones dug into Weavile.
Weavile lost 25% of its health.

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Even Starmie, an emotionless being, cowers in fear to the descendant of evil.
Weavile in contrast couldn't hide its smile

Weavile used Pursuit.
It's super effective!
Starmie lost 50% of its health.
Malfunction's Starmie fainted.
(5-5)
---

And there goes Starmie.

Malfunction switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Pointed stones dug into Scizor.
Scizor lost 12% of its health.

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Scizor is Weavile's archnemesis. I know it is gonna U-turn but for whatever reason i didn't go to Scizor in order to keep Weavile alive for late game. That's most certainly, the biggest mistake i did the whole game.

Thinking that bringing Scizor in would instantly give my opponent the advantage, i sacrifice it. Something i regretted afterwards.

Am sorry Weavile.

Weavile used Pursuit.
It's not very effective...
Scizor lost 18% of its health.
Scizor used U-turn.
It's super effective!

And so he brings Jirachi, who seems to be holding Leftovers.

Astamatitos switched in Flygon (lvl 100 Flygon ?).
Pointed stones dug into Flygon.
Flygon lost 6% of its health.

Posted Image VS Posted Image

No sane man would let his Jirachi die that early in the game. Taking advantage of that i U turn thus allowing me to position myself better against his incoming Pokemon.

Malfunction switched in Rotom-h (lvl 100 Rotom-h).
Pointed stones dug into Rotom-h.
Rotom-h lost 12% of its health.

Astamatitos switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Pointed stones dug into Scizor.
Scizor lost 12% of its health.
---

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Dang! And this is where Weavile would come in handy. Without Weavile and Infernape i have nothing to take out Rotom easily. The only way to finish it off now is by outpredicting it and somehow finishing it off with Flygon as he mispredicts Thunderbolt.

For now i have U-turned to Scizor in order to force it to either WIll-o-Wisp or Overheat, both of which Starmie doesn't mind taking.

Astamatitos switched in Starmie (lvl 100 Starmie).
Pointed stones dug into Starmie.
Starmie lost 12% of its health.
Rotom-h used Overheat.
It's not very effective...
Starmie lost 27% of its health.
Rotom-h's special attack was harshly lowered.
Starmie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Starmie restored 6% of its health.
---

Posted Image VS Posted Image

He is most probably going to switch out, so i am going to spin off the rocks for the time being. Most probably Surf would be a better option here seeing as his Stealth Rocker is still alive.

Malfunction switched in Jirachi (lvl 100 Jirachi).
Pointed stones dug into Jirachi.
Jirachi lost 6% of its health.
Starmie used Rapid Spin.
Starmie blew away the pointed stones!

Starmie restored 6% of its health.
Jirachi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Jirachi restored 6% of its health.
---

Posted Image VS Posted Image

And so he brings in Jirachi. I know he is either going to U-turn or Stealth Rock. I decide to stay in and Surf, seeing as that is the best thing i can do in this situation. Get some damage on Jirachi that is.

Starmie used Surf.
Jirachi lost 27% of its health.
Jirachi used U-turn.
It's super effective!
Starmie lost 39% of its health.

Pointed stones dug into Rotom-h.
Rotom-h lost 12% of its health.
Starmie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Starmie restored 6% of its health.
---

And so he U-turns bringing Rotom back. He already figured out my Rotom-H weak and thus he tries to exploit it as much as he can.

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Seeing Thunderbolt coming i go to Flygon, not like i had much of a choice here.

Astamatitos switched in Flygon (lvl 100 Flygon ?).
Malfunction switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).
Pointed stones dug into Scizor.
Scizor lost 12% of its health.

Posted Image VS Posted Image

A double switch turn. It seems like he either read Celebi coming in, or decided to get some damage onto Flygon.
The sky cries as soon as the best two revenge killers of the game face off against eachother.

Scizor used Bullet Punch.
Flygon lost 66% of its health.
Flygon used Earthquake.

Both determined to win this all out duel Attack eachother with their most effective moves.
In the end, Flygon the desert dragon prevails.

Malfunction switched in Salamence (lvl 100 Salamence ?).
Salamence's intimidate cut Flygon's attack!
Pointed stones dug into Salamence.
Salamence lost 25% of its health.

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Taking into advantage the fact that Flygon is choiced, Malfunction brings in his own Dragon.
He has been hiding him all along and now the time to wreak havoc has come.

Astamatitos switched in Celebi (lvl 100 Celebi).
Salamence used Draco Meteor.
Celebi lost 74% of its health.
Salamence's special attack was harshly lowered.
Salamence lost 10% of its health.
Celebi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Celebi restored 6% of its health.
---

Posted Image VS Posted Image

I don't know what i was thinking here, i bring in Celebi against Salamence instead of Scizor. I must of figured that he is a Dragon Dancing variant, judging from the nature of his team and decided to Thunder Wave it.

Seeing as how i screwed up, i now know that only with sheer prediction i am going to win this match. Although that's really unlikely to be honest.

Seeing Fire Blast coming i decide to withdraw Celebi and bring back in the now wounded Flygon to absorb it.

Astamatitos switched in Flygon (lvl 100 Flygon ?).
Salamence used Fire Blast.
It's not very effective...
Flygon lost 16% of its health.
Salamence lost 10% of its health.
---

Posted Image VS Posted Image

I don't want to lock myself in Outrage, seeing as he still has Jirachi left. This is pretty much what he expects me to do after all. I close my eyes, and use one of the most unstable moves in this game.

Stone Edge Go!

Flygon used Stone Edge.
It's super effective!
Salamence lost 55% of its health.
Malfunction's Salamence fainted.
(4-3)
---

Malfunction switched in Jirachi (lvl 100 Jirachi).
Pointed stones dug into Jirachi.
Jirachi lost 6% of its health.

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Thank fully Stone Edge lands a strike and Flygon finishes off yet another Pokemon of his team.

I am met with Jirachi, and not wanting to allow him to U turn freely i switch to Celebi.

Astamatitos switched in Celebi (lvl 100 Celebi).
Jirachi used U-turn.
It's super effective!
Celebi lost 11% of its health.
Astamatitos's Celebi fainted.
(3-3)

Malfunction switched in Rotom-h (lvl 100 Rotom-h).
Pointed stones dug into Rotom-h.
Rotom-h lost 12% of its health.
---

Posted Image -> Posted Image

And he brings in Rotom again so that he can take out yet one more member of my team. I know what i am going to do. I'll bring in Starmie, thus forcing it to use either Thunderbolt or Shadow Ball, allowing my Scizor to Pursuit him and therefore destroying his levitator so that i can Earthquake freely with Flygon.

Astamatitos switched in Starmie (lvl 100 Starmie).

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Rotom-h used Shadow Ball.
It's super effective!
Starmie lost 40% of its health.
Astamatitos's Starmie fainted.
(2-3)
---

And he used Shadow Ball, the favorable choice for me out of the two. He didn't want Flygon to come onto him again. It was now obvious that he wanted Flygon out at all costs.

Astamatitos switched in Scizor (lvl 100 Scizor ?).

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Rotom-h used Shadow Ball.
It's not very effective...
Scizor lost 22% of its health.
Scizor used Pursuit.

(2-2)
---

And finally this bitch is out of the game.

Malfunction switched in Jirachi (lvl 100 Jirachi).
Pointed stones dug into Jirachi.
Jirachi lost 6% of its health.

Posted Image VS Posted Image

He brings in Jirachi, i decide to stay in and let Jirachi destroy Scizor, afterwards am just going to bring in Flygon and hope his last Pokemon is Ground weak, which is obvious already, and also lacks a priority move.

Scizor used Pursuit.
Jirachi lost 28% of its health.
Jirachi used U-turn.
It's not very effective...
Scizor lost 8% of its health.
Malfunction switched in Tyranitar (lvl 100 Tyranitar ?).
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
A sandstorm brewed!
Pointed stones dug into Tyranitar.
Tyranitar lost 12% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
---

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Instead of taking out Scizor he U-turns to his last Pokemon Tyranitar!

I am most certain it is a DD Tyranitar, and something tells me it holds Babiri Berry. This is definitely hard, if i switch to Flygon and he uses an Attack, it is over for me. Am gonna stay in and Pursuit as he finishes Scizor off, then bring in Flygon and win this.

Tyranitar used Dragon Dance.
Tyranitar's attack was raised.
Tyranitar's speed was raised.
Scizor used Pursuit.
It's not very effective...
Tyranitar lost 16% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
---

And he Dragon Dances! Shit.
Another Dragon Dance is coming, he is hoping that my Flygon is Adamant and therefore won't outspeed his Tyranitar after 2 Dragon Dances.

I am not giving up that easily.
I am gonna stay in and Pursuit, doing enough damage for Bullet Punch to KO his Tyranitar afterwards. His Jirachi is low on HP so most certainly, unless it packs Fire Punch, Scizor wins this game.

Malfunction: gg
Tyranitar used Dragon Dance.
Tyranitar's attack was raised.
Tyranitar's speed was raised.
Scizor used Pursuit.
It's not very effective...
A critical hit!
Tyranitar lost 30% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
---

And bingo! Now i am more certain that Bullet Punch will KO even if he holds Babiri. Otherwise it would really be a coinflip.

Astamatitos: Yep, gg
Astamatitos switched in Flygon (lvl 100 Flygon ?).
Tyranitar used Fire Punch.
It's not very effective...
Flygon lost 12% of its health.
Astamatitos's Flygon fainted.

---

Posted Image VS Posted Image

Good bye Flygon. You did your best.
I'll avenge your death, i promise.

It's time to finish this. Bullet Punch go!

And it faints! Now there's only one more.

Malfunction: >.>
Malfunction switched in Jirachi (lvl 100 Jirachi).
Pointed stones dug into Jirachi.

Posted Image VS Posted Image

My opponent just can't believe how this happened. His victory was assured.

Jirachi used Thunder Wave.
Scizor is paralysed! It may be unable to move!
The sandstorm rages.
Jirachi's leftovers restored its health a little!
Jirachi restored 6% of its health.
---

Thunder Wave, shit. If i paralyse it's over. He will regain enough HP to withstand another Bullet Punch, thus allowing him to land 2 Iron Heads on Scizor, therefore winning him the game.

Please don't yield Scizor. One more strike. Shall we do it??

Scizor used Bullet Punch.
It's not very effective...
Jirachi lost 14% of its health.
Malfunction's Jirachi fainted.

And yes! He makes it!
Phew..
Good Job team.

Astamatitos wins!

Pros:
Awesome predictions.
Similar playstyles.
Full of kill or be killed situations.
Flygon for taking half his team and being awesome in general.
Scizor for winning me the game!

Cons:
First turn freeze on Infernape.
Letting Weavile, the glass cannon of the team, die so soon in the game.
Several mistakes on my part, i didn't play as good as i normally do.
Him for knowing my team beforehand.

I hope this made for a good read.
Until next time,

~Astamatitos.
